HCKids at Harvest has set out to connect children with the gospel in a relevant and meaningful way. HCKids provides age-appropriate lessons every Sunday at 10:00am for ages 12mo. through 5th grade.

We believe that children are vital to the livelihood of the Church and as a result they are welcomed and valued.
Matthew 19:13-15 recounts this story:
“Then some children were brought to Him so that He may lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.”
Simply put, Jesus himself said that the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN belongs to those like CHILDREN!
“Whoever then humbles himself as this child, his is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in ME to stumble…”
I will let you finish reading this selection of Matthew 18:4-6 because let’s just say, you really DO NOT want to cause a child to stumble… In summary, we are receiving CHRIST HIMSELF when we receive children in His name.

We believe that a quality children’s ministry is a gateway to whole-family ministry.
Families will choose a church with a good children’s ministry over a church with good adult ministries. In other words, parents choose churches on behalf of their children. Jesus draws powerful leverage from a parental heart in Matthew 7:9-11:
“Or what man is there among you, when his son asks for a loaf will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!”
If we get children in the church, we can assume that a family accompanies them in some form. Families represent a wide variety of adults, teenagers, and children. These populations provide need for ministries such as: marriage ministry, single-parent ministry, youth ministry, stewardship ministries, women’s ministry, men’s ministry, recovery programs, outreach…, the list could go on and on because nearly every population is represented when you include family units.

We believe that every child at every age can connect with God in a meaningful way.
God is the loving and enamored Father of every single person on this earth. This includes EVERY SINGLE CHILD. From the minutes-old infant throughout adulthood, God yearns for connection with all of his children. In fact, God validates the power of his connection to infants and children in Psalms 8:2,
“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.”
Also in Matthew 21:15-16 when Jesus rebukes the pharisees’ response to the children’s praise,
“But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David,’ they were indignant. ‘Do you hear what these children are saying?’ they asked him. ‘Yes,’ replied Jesus, ‘have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise?’” “
